Cover Letter For Personal Assistant

I am writing to apply for the position of Personal Assistant advertised in today’s Local Advertiser.

I believe I have the skills and qualities that you are asking for.
I have considerable secretarial and administrative experience, along with excellent
Keyboard skills and a confident telephone manner developed through experience in customer services.

My previous position was with McDonald Partners, where I was a personal assistant to the senior partner, responsible for the practical, every-day organisation and administration of the office. This post required initiative and maturity, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. It also, I believe considerably developed my competence and good judgement.
I am an experienced bookkeeper, having been treasurer of the local environmental group for the past three years. My interest in environmental issues sprang from my study of Third World trade while studying economics at college, and from seeing conditions at first hand during travels in West and Central South East Asia. I am, consequently, a firm believer in Fair Trade policies.

I greatly enjoyed working in the busy office environment of McDonald Partners; sadly, however, my job became redundant when the company was taken over at the beginning of this year. I am now looking for a position that offers the chance to become closely involved with a thriving organisation once again. I feel that your advertisement offers just the opportunity that I am looking for.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours sincerely
