Engineering Technician Job Descriptions

| Aerospace or aeronautical engineering technicians
design, manufacture and testing of new aircraft and components,
and repair and maintenance of existing fleets. They also work
in all types of civil and military aircraft and weapons systems
and satellites. One normally work
in one of the two areas, although their functions may overlap:
· Use of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer
aided manufacturing software (CAM) to develop prototype plans
Investigate and test solutions to engineering problems caused
by factors such as performance of weight, height, temperature
and engine
• Creation and testing prototypes using computer simulations
and physical models
· Using prototypes to predict and improve the functioning
of aircraft systems.
· Mechanism - the construction and maintenance of aircraft
structures, hydraulics and pneumatic systems, such as wings,
engines and landing gear
· Aircraft - Installation and testing of control systems used
in electrical and electronic navigation, communications and
flight control.
