As an art appraiser assessing the amount of individual artworks or collections are worth. I would advise people and organizations that want to sell, buy or insure artworks, including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, porcelain, books and furniture. They often specialize in a particular period or type of art, for example, eighteenth-century porcelain.
Their daily work usually include:
· Evaluation of the condition, quality and age of the object or collection

· Checking if it has been restored or modified in any way
· Checking the origin of the object or collection of instructional receipts or other proof of how the owner got it
Investigate the use of reference books, libraries and the Internet
· Specialists in consulting and historians
· Keeps abreast of current prices and demands
· Prepare written evaluations of customers
· Preparation of catalogs and running auctions.
