| Audio-visual (AV) technicians
set up, operate and maintain equipment used for exhibitions
and multimedia presentations in places such as conference
centers, galleries, schools and universities. The technicians
work can vary from preparing equipment for a conference of
the organization of the kind of sound and lighting for a fashion
show.
As an AV technician who could work with a wide range of equipment
including multimedia projectors, PA systems, video conferencing
equipment, still and video cameras, image editing suites,
lighting, control equipment and reprographic equipment.
Your day to day duties may include:
· Creation of equipment in accordance with work instructions
given by the organizers, the exhibition designers or teaching
staff
· Operation of equipment and
controls during rehearsals, live shows, conferences and exhibitions
· Provide support services, including in the field of troubleshooting
and fixing
· Carry out scheduled maintenance checks, which can include
portable test (PAT)
· Writing technical reports based on test results maintenance
· Team reserve management and monitoring systems
· Users of team building and training writing notes
Production of advertising or marketing materials
• Conduct audits of equipment as part of the development of
facilities and upgrade plans, supply and purchase recommendation
and price negotiations with equipment suppliers.
