As an audiologist who will diagnose hearing
and balance in patients of all ages, and provide the means
for its management.
A key part of its role would be the diagnosis, which involves:
· Decide on the best way to evaluate a patient's hearing
· Adapting tests to suit age and ability of the patient
· Evaluation of the hearing, including the noise level and
frequency range
· Exploration of symptoms related to medicine, physical and
emotional.
Once the diagnosis had been reached, which had developed a
rehabilitation plan, which would imply:
· Select an appropriate hearing
Produce an impression of the ear of an earmold
· Modifications to fit hearing aids and ear molds
• Review progress and make changes in the adjustment
· Patients teach the use of hearing aids prescribed
· Repair defective hearing
• Give the patient information and advice on how to manage
their condition.
