As a baker, a variety of methods used to produce bakery products and confectionery such as cakes, pastries and cookies. Usually working in one of three types of bakery: plant, shop or craft.
In a bakery plant, machinery is used and production lines to manufacture large quantities of baked goods in shops, supermarkets and other large consumers.
As a baker in the shop, for example, a supermarket, automated machinery is used to make fresh bread products sold in the store.

In a bakery, you would create a smaller scale products sold in a store, delicatessen or specialty retailer. This work would be more varied and, although some machines are used, would take out much of the work at hand.
