In the area of industrial biotechnology your role could include: Production of cloning and enzymes that can be used for the manufacture and preservation of food and beverages (including beer, cheese and bread) The creation of biological detergents and dyes for the textile industry · Improved animal feed · Development of crops resistant to pests • The genetic modification of crops to increase productivity. In environmental biotechnology duties may include: · The development of microorganisms and plants to cleanse the land or water that is contaminated with sewage, industrial waste and agricultural chemicals The creation of alternative renewable energy sources such as bio diesel • The organic production of raw materials for industry, such as biodegradable plastics from plant starches.
