centre operators, also known as contact centre operators answer
enquiries from customers by telephone, email, text messaging,
fax and post.
Your exact duties as a call centre operator would depend on
what type of employer you have. You could work for:
· mail-order companies – dealing with customer
orders, credit and debit card payments, enquiries and complaints
· financial institutions – advising about products
and services, working in telesales to generate leads and conducting
market research
· IT help lines – providing first-line support
to callers to try and help them fix computer problems
· Advisory services – offering
callers services such as counselling, welfare
and benefits advice, legal information or
help with careers.
