| Care assistants (sometimes
known as care workers or social workers) provide practical
help with daily activities of people with a number of difficulties.
You can work with children, people with physical or learning
disabilities, older people or families.
As a care assistant, you could work with clients in their
own homes, sheltered housing, day centers or residential centers
such as nursing homes. His work may vary depending on the
type of adjustment, but may include:
· How to know individual clients and be aware of their interests
and social needs
· Clients support with day care staff, such as washing, dressing,
toileting and feeding themselves
· Carry out general tasks such as housework, laundry and shopping
· Help clients to arrange payment of bills, budgeting money
and letter writing
· To help families and parents adjust to new caring responsibilities
· Collaborate with health professionals and social assistance
to provide individual attention and development plans
· To be the "key worker" for one or two residents
in a residential
· Help organize recreational activities
· Customers escort to and from the domestic hearth (for example,
young people attending a local college).
