Joiner Job Descriptions

Carpenters and joiners make and install
wooden tools and equipment in the proposed residential and
commercial construction.
These can include tables, kitchen and bathroom units, window
frames and doors, roof trusses and partitions.
As a carpenter or cabinetmaker of his or her work could
belong to one or more of the following areas:
· Formwork - building temporary shuttering to support setting
concrete, for example on motorway bridge supports or building
foundations
· Fixing second (work) - installing skirting
boards, door surrounds, doors, cabinets and shelves, and
door handles and locks
Mounting · Shop - manufacture and installation of interiors
for shops, hotels, banks, offices and public buildings (see
profile in the form of store).
· Machining - cutting and shaping wood flooring, baseboards
and window frames
· Bank Joinery - Doors-making and assembly, window frames,
staircases and fitted furniture
· Fixing the first place (workplace) - assembly of the wooden
structures of a building such as floor joists and ceiling,
wooden ceilings, stairs, walls and doors and windows
