| Childminders, also known as
pediatric nurses are trained to understand and care for children
and young people under 18 who require intensive care or long
term.
As a nurse of children, you can work in hospitals or community.
Their duties usually include:
Evaluate the needs of children who may be sick, injured or
disabled
· Decide on the level of nursing care required, taking into
account the child's circumstances
· Collaborate with physicians to create and deliver a plan
of care
· Provide nursing practice. Whenever
possible, they also work closely with the child's family to
support them through the gamut of emotions experienced when
a child is sick, and teach them to provide care and treatment.
Nursing care offered may include:
· Temperature Verification
• Measure blood pressure and respiration rates
· Assist physicians with physical examinations
Drugs and give injections
· Cleaning and healing wounds
· Administration of blood transfusions and drips
· Use high-tech medical equipment.
