| Computer games developers
create games for PC, game consoles, Internet and mobile phones.
The work may involve developing new games or updating existing
titles.
A game can take several months or even years to produce. The
development process involves many steps leading to the publication
of a game, since the creation of ideas and characters for
programming and testing. Many different people can work at
each stage:
· As a designer, who decides what a game looks and how you
play - it is possible to the original ideas of yourself, or
work from an existing concept
· As an artist or animator, you must
create visuals of the game characters, objects and landscape
and bring them to life - which can produce concept art and
storyboards in the planning stage, or the use of 2-D and 3-D
computer modeling and animation software during the production
stage
· As a programmer, you must create the code that makes the
game - which could specialize in the development of graphics,
artificial intelligence (AI), or the game software
· As an audio engineer / sound, you could create sound effects,
character voice-overs and music for games
· As a quality assurance (QA) tester, you will see the playability
and reliability, and report any problems or errors to the
development team
· As a production or project manager who would oversee the
whole process and make sure the final game is delivered to
the publisher or the distributor in time.
