Service and Repair Technician Job Descriptions

| His work as a technical service
and computer repair would be to install, service and repair
of systems and equipment.
You could work as a member of a team of IT support in a large
organization, in commercial contracts for a service company,
or as a field technician for an equipment manufacturer. Alternatively,
you can run your own PC repair and upgrade business.
Your day to day tasks may include:
· Installation of new IT systems
· Upgrading of existing hardware and software ·
Visit the home users to configure your PC or repair defective
equipment
· The test systems to ensure proper operation
Maintenance · Printers, scanners and other office equipment
(known as peripherals)
· Estimates Preparation for new installations
· Carry out routine administration, such as organization of
shifts of personnel.
Key Skills
· A thorough knowledge of operating systems, hardware
and common software
· Good communication and customer service skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· A patient and methodical approach
· The ability to work to deadlines
· A willingness to keep up to date with IT developments
· An awareness of electrical safety issues.
