| Criminal intelligence analysts
investigate crime data and other information sources to identify
patterns of criminal activity, and how they relate to each
other. The police and security agencies use this information
to:
· Individuals and networks target
• Address the particular crime trends, such as fraud, theft,
drug or vehicle
· Initiatives of the Plan to reduce recidivism.
His or her duties as an intelligence analyst may include:
· Update database records intelligence
· Recovery of information from local systems, national and
international team
• Data analysis using specialized software
• Building an image of crime and incident "hot spots"
(profile problem) within an area
· Preparation and presentation of graphs, charts and data
to receive operational information
· Monitoring the behavior of individuals or groups (specific
profiles)
· The comparison of data on the cases to see the similarities
and differences
• Share appropriate information with other organizations
· Give the intelligence of current operations to help managers
allocate resources in the short term (tactical assessment)
• Review how the efficacy analysis was the identification
of deficiencies and recommend changes where necessary methods
To act as a witness at trial when necessary.
