| Critical
care technologists (CCTs) make sure the equipment used in
the care of critically ill patients is safe, effective and
used properly. CCTs may also be known by other titles, such
as intensive care unit technician
Its main functions will focus on ensuring that the equipment
and technology necessary to support organ function and maintain
life was work and their proper use. His work combines the
expertise of the technology and physiology with patient care.
His work also might include:
· Creation of equipment, connecting patients and the control
of the machinery used
· Collaborate with other health professionals during life
threatening events
· Advise and train medical personnel on the use of equipment
· Negotiation with health visitors
· Ordering equipment such as medical gases and liquids from
the pharmacy
· The routine administration tasks such as invoice processing
and updating of records
· Management of guard duty and the work of other staff
· Patients Transfer
· Research, develop, review and introduction of new treatments
and technologies.
