As a Foreign Service officer
who would work in the UK or abroad for the Foreign and Commonwealth
Office (FCO). Which would aim to promote and protect British
interests abroad, and provide advice and support to the development
of British politics to foreign policy.
FCO's work is varied and covers all areas where British interests and citizens are involved internationally, for example: · POLITICAL - monitoring the political and economic developments in the host country and Great Britain represent the government of that country and the media · Commercial - helping British companies to trade in the host country and promote investment in Britain · Consular - help British nationals in the host country, and processing of visa applications from local residents who wish to come to Britain.
