Job Descriptions

Divers work under water, either
at sea or inland rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs. Can perform
a wide range of tasks depending on their skills, working industry,
and the type of breathing equipment they use.
As a diver who specialize in one of the four areas, which vary
depending on the depth of the dive and breathing apparatus.
These are:
· SCUBA (Self-contained breathing apparatus under water) -
using an air tank and flippers, especially in recreation facilities,
diving and police
· Area restricted supplied - using an air line to the surface,
usually in inshore / inland diving
· Surface Supplied - using a hot water suit, air line and
open diving bells, diving at sea
· Close Bell or saturation diving - using a diving bell and
mixed gas diving in deep water (often used in surveying, scientific
archeology and diving).
You could work as a diver in several industries, including:
Offshore oil and gas, exploration and study, or the construction
and maintenance of drilling equipment and pipelines
· Engineering Civil, underwater repairs, demolition and salvage
· Fish farming or shellfish diving
· The media, for tricks or shooting under water
· The scientific research and underwater archeology
· Police, search and recovery of missing persons or evidence
Leisure ·, a leading sports diver dives diving recreational
and / or teaching SCUBA diving skills.
