and Alcohol Worker Job Descriptions

| The drug and
alcohol workers, also known as substance abuse workers, helping
people to address substance abuse problems. Workers against
people in three broad categories of substance abuse - drugs
(illegal, prescription and nonprescription),
alcohol and solvents. The work can
be extremely difficult but also very rewarding.
As drug and alcohol worker, which would help customers access
services such as counseling, health care and education. Their
work could include the following areas:
· The outreach work - to encourage people with substance abuse
problems to engage with support services
· Advice and rehabilitation - therapeutic support and treatment
of substance abuse causes
· Working in prison (known as the arrest of reference work)
- supporting clients arrested for drug offenses
• Education and training - customer support with reading,
writing, math, computer skills, job search and CV
· The health - working as a clinical nurse specialist of addiction
combined with a general practice or shelter, prescription
drug therapy, monitoring of needle exchange programs and other
rights
· Promotion - to help customers use housing, employment, health
and other services, and acting as spokesman for the clients
in the justice system
· Advice and guidance - giving guidance, advice and ongoing
support to clients in prisons and detention centers, including
support for detoxification programs (drug and alcohol workers
in this field are sometimes knowns as CARAT workers).
