E-Learning Developer Job Descriptions

E-learning developers, also known as e-learning technologists, building online training areas, known as virtual learning environments (VLEs) for universities, colleges and training companies. Typically consist of EVA materials, e-mail services, student resources, and interactive areas of the course and testing.
You can participate in the construction of a VLE from scratch or customizing a version off-the-shelf. Duties may include:
· Work with tutors to create and structure of online learning materials
· Creating interactive multimedia such as video clips or web casts
· Integration of new components of EVA in the general framework of the management system of an organisation of web content
CV Key Skills

· Modification of content for delivery to other platforms such as mobile phones and handheld PDAs
· Make safety measures exist to control access to the VLE
· Training users to assess the needs
· Writing support materials for users.


Key Skills
· A working knowledge of web authoring and web development software
· Excellent presentation and communication skills
· Creative ability
· An awareness of development standards
· An understanding of privacy and confidentiality legislation, such as the Data Protection Act
· Good organisational skills
· The ability to manage several projects at the same time and work to deadlines
· The ability to work within a team, including course tutors and programmers
· An awareness of website usability and accessibility issues.
