| Electronics engineers research, design and
develop precision electronic components and equipment in a
wide range of industries. They have also carried out inspections,
testing and maintenance programs for systems and electronic
equipment. Some of the fields covered are:
· Telecommunications - mobile phones, radio, television and
satellite communications
· Data communications - PCs, laptops, peripherals, PDAs, ATMs
and electronic points of sale (EPOS) terminals
· Research scientist - acoustics, optics, physics and nanotechnology
· Instruments Medical - Clinical and laboratory equipment
· Military - communications, navigation and weapons systems
· Manufacturing - Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and industrial
machinery
· The automated systems - robotics and artificial intelligence
(AI).
As an engineer, his exact duties will vary depending on your
job, but may include:
Evaluate new developments and innovations to see if they are
viable
· Drawing of technical plans and computer-aided engineering
design software
· Estimating production times and costs of labor and project
· Coordinate the work of technicians and craftsmen
· Testing of prototypes and data analysis
· Make that projects meet safety standards
· Planning and supervision of inspection and maintenance programs
· Attending meetings, writing reports and presentations to
managers and customers.
