Operative Job Descriptions

| Operating engineering work across the engineering
sector. The type of work they do will depend on the branch
of engineering work, for example, manufacturing engineering,
mechanical assembly and electrical maintenance.
Their typical duties include:
· Manufacture and assembly of components into finished products
electrical or mechanical appliances such as vehicles or
· The marking, cutting and drilling power tools or products
with CNC equipment
· Using acetylene, MIG and TIG welding techniques to bond
the components together
· Perform basic maintenance and repairs of electrical and
mechanical
· Inspect and test the wiring and circuitry, and replacement
of defective parts
· Application of treatments using products heat hardening
components
· Spare cleaning with chemical solutions
· Application of finishes and surface coatings, chemicals
or spray paint methods.
