Estimator Job Descriptions

As a cost estimator or engineer, who would know how much the supply of goods or services to a client. Usually works for a manufacturing, engineering or construction.
Part of his job would be to investigate and evaluate the details of a variety of sources to prepare accurate estimates. Some of its main functions would include:
· Find what the customer wants
· Materials Research, equipment and labor

· Collection of quotes from material suppliers and subcontractors
· Planning work schedules
Evaluate levels of risk in a project
· Analyze business data, exchange rates and prices, software packages
· Prepare and submit quotations for the work
· Assist with bids for new contracts and support procurement activities
· Follow-up stages of a project to ensure that costs are in line with expectations.
