| Florists use their creativity
and knowledge of plants and flowers to design and make floral
arrangements, bouquets and wreaths. They work with all kinds
of flowers and display materials, including cut flowers, plants,
dried flowers and artificial, gifts and decorations.
As a florist should:
· Help clients choose the right flowers and plants
· Making for bouquets and arrangements based on their own
ideas, design books and customer requirements
· Prepare and wire flowers for formal displays
· Advising clients on how to care for flowers or plants they
buy
· Establishment of shows, for example, conferences or exhibitions
· Delivery of orders to customers.

The ability to understand the properties and needs of the
different plants and flowers
· The ability to explain your ideas to customers
· Good practical skills
· A helpful, pleasant and tactful approach
· The ability to handle money and work out costs
· The ability to work under pressure, especially at
busy times such as Christmas and St Valentine’s Day.
