Geotechnician support the work of professional geologists by collecting and analyzing information from rock samples.
Much of his work as Geotechnician involves routine laboratory tasks such as:
· Preparation of rock samples, soil and water for testing

· To analyze the chemical composition and physical properties of the samples.
You could use a number of specialized instruments and computer programs at work, and you may be responsible for servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Depending on the type of research being carried out other duties could include:
· Collection and processing of geophysical data
· Registration of drilling activity and drilling
· Data Interpretation of seismic surveys
· Preparation of geological maps sections
· Support the teacher in college.
