As manager of horticulture that would oversee the development and growth of plants on a large scale. You can work on: · Production horticulture - producing food and ornamental plants for sale to wholesalers, retailers, nurseries, garden centers and the public · Garden centers - the production of plants for sale to the public, along with products such as tools and garden furniture · Services of gardening - design, construction, management and maintenance of areas such as public parks and botanical gardens. Your day to day tasks that vary depending on your particular job, but may include: · Monitor and possibly help with all aspects of growing · Develop and modify operational and business plans · Maintain records and management of budgets and accounts · Analysis of yields and costs
· Development of new products and markets and negotiating with suppliers · Design and development of design planting schemes · Programming of planting and harvesting crops · Make sure that the health and safety regulations and procedures are followed. |
