Loss
adjusters are independent claims specialists who investigate
large or complex claims on behalf of insurance companies.
They assess the scale and causes of the loss or damage, and
make sure that insurance claims are valid. As a loss adjuster you could deal with insurance claims for anything from fire or flood damage, to loss through theft or fraud. Your work would involve: · Sites to visit to assess the damage · Clients of interviews on demand • Evidence gathering, such as images from the surveillance camera and police reports · Request detailed reports from specialists, such as building surveyors · Complete the relevant paperwork · Checking the policy cover the loss and that the client is claiming a reasonable amount · Organization of cleaning or salvage operations, or the organization of major repairs of buildings · Make more research, if you suspect fraud · Present a report of the insurers, recommending how much should be paid · Advise applicants as to avoid further losses. |
