Risk Surveyor Job Descriptions

Insurance risk surveyors, also known as risk
analysts or risk advisers, carry out surveys of buildings,
machinery, transport and other sites or items to be insured.
As risk inspector, a key part of their work would be reporting
to help insurers decide on the terms and conditions of insurance
policies. Usually specialize in one of the following areas:
· Fire and perils - examining the plans, construction and
fire protection systems for risk assessment of a building
and its contents
· Accidents and responsibility - the assessment of potential
risks to employees, customers and visitors to a building or
site
· Engineering insurance - surveying mechanical and industrial
facilities, machinery and equipment failures and risks
· Theft - inspecting business premises to check on the stored
goods and improve security.
