You could be employed as a kennel worker in: · Resident dog, who care for animals when their owners are away for a short period of time · The organizations like the Humane Society, dealing with stray animals, abandoned or abused · Kennels by organizations such as the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association · Reproduction or quarantine kennels. His work includes: · Preparation of food and animal feed · Maintain clean animals, grooming and treatment of parasites and fleas · The exercise of dogs in a yard or take a walk · Cleaning of kennels and cages · The care of animals who are sick or afflicted. Key Skills · confidence in handling animals · the ability to take initiative or work in a team · good observational skills to notice changes in animals' behaviour · the ability to cope with the physical demands of the job – walking dogs and cleaning out kennels. |
