Sample Behavioral Interview Questions on General Questions 1 |
|
| Describe a situation
in which you were able to use persuasion to successfully convince
someone to see things your way.
Whilst undertaking research interviews with financial service and IT Managers, whose time was very limited, and enthusiasm to, not answer questions was fully evident. Instead of trying to convince them to carry out the interviews at the time of the call, I explained the benefits of such research, offered to send them a copy of the report on behalf of the client, therefore scheduling a specific appointment time to complete the interviews, in turn, making them feel flattered and self important. Describe
a time when you were faced with a stressful situation that demonstrated
your coping skills. Give me a specific example of
a time when you used good judgment and logic in solving a problem. In many issues, there is not always a clear distinction between right and a wrong. In order to do the right thing, we always need to use good judgment to manage an issue or crisis. Having built experience through various project management roles, I have developed the necessary tools through having an objective view, by avoiding making quick decisions. I recall an experience where I felt under pressure
from external clients, personnel from other departments, and members
of my team to act and make a decision about missing a deadline
or changing the time schedule in advance. By escalating my concern to my manager who I felt was the best person to assist me in making the right decision. After a brief conversation with my manager, I gathered all necessary information to make an informed decision about moving the project deadline back to avoid failing in certain criteria. Building and retaining a good reputation with
this external client was critical not only to my career success
within the organization but also to a long standing relationship
with this client. |
