cooking with pulses – such as lentils, butter
beans, black eyed beans, they are very nutritious
and miles cheaper than meat.
Shop locally at street barrows and markets, cheaper than supermarkets. Make shopping lists and stick to them, avoiding impulse buys. Use the bus to get around rather than tube and train. Even cheaper, cycle and get exercise too. Draughts proof your windows to reduce heat loss and energy bills. Use what’s in the fridge, don’t chuck out of date food. Use it! Never buy precooked food, you are adding to the corporation’s profits, make your own, including sandwiches. Never pay the full price for anything. Find the cheapest price on the internet and offer a retail giant the chance to match it. Buy stuff on ebay, car boots and charity shops. Contributed By Frank Broughton |
